Pita Kabab is Cedar Rapids' family-owned Mediterranean and Middle Eastern restaurant. We serve authentic Palestinian recipes made from scratch every day — hand-rolled falafel, slow-roasted shawarma on a traditional vertical spit, charcoal-grilled kabobs, and house-made hummus prepared fresh every morning.
Our owner Ray Aqel opened Pita Kabab to share the food his family has cooked for generations. Every dish follows a recipe passed down through family tradition — not a corporate formula. You can taste the difference from the first bite.
Located at 3100 6th St SW in Cedar Rapids in southwest Cedar Rapids, we serve the Cedar Rapids metro area for dine-in, takeout, and full-service catering. Most meals are ready in 10 minutes. Platters take about 20 minutes because they are grilled to order over real charcoal.
Our Mediterranean Delight menu features authentic Palestinian home-cooking dishes — foul, mfatakeh, kalaya, and chicken liver — that are unavailable anywhere else in Cedar Rapids. All chicken and beef dishes use halal-certified meat. About a third of our menu is vegetarian or vegan, including our hand-rolled falafel and house-made hummus.
